Symposium: Mapping music theatre
On 28 September the festival organises a symposium devoted to the interplay of different working methods, funding systems and aesthetics of music theatre in the Netherlands and Berlin. The event is hosted in German and English.
Time: 28 September 2019, from 12:00-16:00
Location: Volksbühne, Grüner Salon
The music theatre scene and infrastructure of the Netherlands will be compared with that of Berlin. Why is the music theatre of the Netherlands so different from that of Berlin? Despite of the differences, where are their points of contact? What can both learn from each other? Featuring keynotes by Martina Stütz (independent dramaturg), Dennis Stam (Performing Arts Fund NL), Guy Coolen (Operadagen Rotterdam / Muziektheater Transparant Antwerpen), and Matthias Rebstock (director and music theatre scholar).
