Dutch theatre for young audiences at Belfast Children's Festival

The Dutch focus takes place from 9-11 March 2020 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Belfast Children's Festival is an annual international festival for children aged 0-17 years and their families. Events take place both in and out of school time for schools, groups and families to attend. For its 22nd edition the festival presents a packed programme of theatre, visual art, music, dance, literature, workshops and talks, guaranteed to inspire joy, creativity and curiosity.
Dutch focus
The festival presents a Dutch focus programme with a total of seven performances. Visitors can enjoy shows by the following companies:
Simone de Jong will do a Physical Performance & Modern Mime Workshop for theatre professionals and performance students on 9 March 2020. It this workshop the participants will find different ways to perform and explore sensitivity, movement qualities and physical awareness.
On 10 March the fesival hosts a panel discussion titled 'Creating Work for Young Audiences'. Theatre professionals are invited to join the conversation with panellists Tom Maguire (Ulster University), Tony Reekie (Catherine Wheels), Josee Hussaarts (Theatergroep Kwatta) and Simone de Jong (Simone de Jong Company). Moderated by Jen White (the MAC), the panel will discuss what makes a great performance work for young audiences ‘great’.
