The presentation is part of a joint effort of Dutch Performing Arts, Flanders Literature, Flanders Arts Institute, and Maison Antoine Vitez to promote Dutch-language theatre texts in French-speaking regions.
Festival Regards Croisés is an important gathering place for contemporary playwrights and features staged readings, round table discussions and workshops. The staged reading of the theatre text ‘Embrouilleurs!’ (‘Woestzoeker!’) will be followed by an interview with Flemish author Jan Sobrie and translator Esther Gouarné.
The reading and interview will be streamed on 5 May 2021 at 20:30 on the websites of Troisième bureau and Théâtre contemporain.
More presentations of theatre texts by Dutch and Flemish authors will take place this summer at the convent of La Chartreuse in Villeneuve-lèz-Avignon, France.
As part of a special collaboration that started in 2018, Dutch Performing Arts, Flanders Literature and Flanders Arts Institute present staged readings of theatre texts from Flanders and the Netherlands in France, in collaboration with Maison Antoine Vitez. Together the organisations want to increase the visibility of contemporary Dutch-language theatre texts in French-speaking regions. The translated theatre texts will be presented for French-speaking theatre professionals at various festivals and other events.
